Office of Academic Achievement and Programs

  • The Office of Academic Achievement and Programs oversees curriculum, instruction, assessment, technology, and special programs and is led by Chief Academic Officer, Chuck Gardner.

    Overseeing the Office of Academic Achievement is Executive Director Dr. Jennifer Hernandez. In her role, Dr. Hernandez is responsible for all areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and technology. Supporting this important work are nine Academic Coordinators and one Gifted Coach that liaise between the district office and local schools. Dr. Hernandez also supports Gifted and IB Programmes.

    Dr. Kerri McDougal is the Director of Academic Programs and oversees areas such as scheduling and allotments, counseling, social workers, truancy, prevention intervention and Hartmann Center.

    Dr. Brittney Bridges, Executive Director of Innovative Practices, oversees school governance, charter, policy, and federal programs.

    The Office is committed to providing an instructional program that supports academic achievement for all students in the Marietta City Schools community.
