Our drivers and monitors are committed to the safety of our students and our families.
Per DFACS policy, a parent/guardian must be at the bus stop with their 8 and under student. If no parent/guardian age 13 or older is able to get an 8 and under student/s off of the bus, students will be taken to Park Street.
When an 8 and under student/s has an older sibling(s) on the bus and no one is there to get them off the bus, all siblings will be taken to Park Street. If a student turns 9 years old after school begins, schools must change backpack tag from orange to green; and notify transportation of the change.

It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure the student is appropriately supervised or a child is dropped off at his/her bus stop. Failure to do so can result in the filing of a report based upon Division of Family and Children Service (DFCS) guidelines.
Georgia DFCS Guidelines state that:
- Children age 8 years old and younger should not be left alone, even for short periods of time.
- Children between the ages of 9 and 12, based on level of maturity, can be left home alone for brief periods of time.
- Children 13 and older can generally be left as babysitters, except for foster care. It is not recommended, however, that 13-year-olds babysit infants, small children and children that require special attention due to medical conditions.
Please note that students 8 years old and younger will be taken to Park Street if one of the authorized pickups isn’t at the bus stop. If a student is returned to the MCS after school program, his/her parents could be charged a fee. Therefore, it is important that you communicate your arrangements with the bus driver if you or another responsible person of the appropriate age is not present to meet young children. *Please note that we keep siblings together.
