Elementary Summer Reading Challenge 2024

  • Log your minutes every time you read and collect cool badges along the way.

    When we return to school in August, all students who earn all their badges, completing the challenge, will be invited to our Popsicle Party!

    The challenge runs from May 24-July 26.

    Rising Grades 1–2 Summer Reading Challenge

    This summer we challenge you to earn 12 badges by reading for 8 hours (480 minutes), which breaks down to just 60 minutes a week. You can select anything you want to read!

    Rising Grades 3–5 Summer Reading Challenge

    This summer we challenge you to earn 16 badges by reading for 12 hours (720 minutes), which breaks down to about 20 minutes a day.

    MCS Elementary Book Recommendations

    The books on this site are suggestions designed to be engaging summer reads. Students may read any age- and reading-level appropriate book of their choice. As these books are suggestions, parents/guardians may use their discretion to determine which books are most appropriate for their child.
